The 2016 Northeast Conference Lacrosse championship featured the top seeded Saint Joseph's Hawks hosting the Hobart Statesmen, playing for an automatic bid to the 2016 NCAA Tournament. Led by NEC Tournament MVP Jackson Brown's 13 saves, the Statesmen pulled off the 11-7 upset over the Hawks, winning their first NEC title and heading back to the NCAA's for the first time since 2004.
