The 2017 Illinois State Championship lacrosse games was held at Stevenson High School and featured the sites top two seeds, Loyola and New Trier, squaring off for the rights to the state title. For the Ramblers of Loyola, a win would ensure the perfect season and give them back to back state championship wins. For New Trier, the Trevians looked to avenge its only loss in the regular season as well as last years lost to Loyola in the 2016 state championship. Loyola opened the scoring early in the first but from then on, it was all New Trier as the underdogs raced out to a 5-3 lead heading into the half. The Trevians would continue to lead well in to the final minutes, eventually defeating the top seeded Ramblers by a score of 9-6.
