Seeking their fifth straight Class L State Title, the Darien High School girls lacrosse team took on the Wilton Warriors at John Law High School in Milford, CT. It was the second meeting between the two schools this season, with Darien taking the first meeting by a score of 15-2. From the start of the game, it seemed that Darien was en route to another comfortable win, as the Blue Wave held a 10-4 lead at the half. However, the Wilton Warriors would not go away quietly, and would storm out of the gate in the second half, cutting the Darien lead to 12-10 with just under three minutes to play. That would be closest Wilton would come however, as Darien would hold on to win by a score of 13-10. The win gave Darien's senior class its fourth title in four years and the programs 16th state championship overall.
