One Love Foundation The One Love Foundation is an organization dedicated to educating the youth about healthy versus unhealthy relationships. One Love was founded in 2010 after a UVA lacrosse player, Yeardley Love, was killed by her ex-boyfriend.
As this foundation honors the 10-year anniversary of Yeardley’s passing, One Love and the NCAA Student-Athlete Engagement Committee are working together to challenge every DI, DII and DIII school to host at least one, One Love Workshop in her honor. The goal is for all student-athletes to have access to these life-saving resources. The One Love foundation encourages these athletic programs to participate and to be a part of one of the largest relationship health education initiatives in the nation’s history. Many schools are using the One Love workshops to meet the NCAA violence prevention mandate. These workshops will allow student-athletes to recognize signs of abuse and teaches them how to build healthier relationships. This challenge is open to anyone in the student-athlete community – students, administrators, coaches, athletic trainers, etc.
