In a non-conference showdown amongst two on the rise collegiate lacrosse programs, the Providence Friars men’s lacrosse team hosted the High Point Panthers at Chapey Field in Providence, Rhode Island. Heading into the game, the Friars looked to wrap up a three game home stand with a win after dropping a game to Sacred Heart last week while the Panthers looked to snap a two game losing streak. Played in bitter temperatures and some high winds, the Friars stormed out of the gate early, taking a 8-3 lead into the half. Providence would contuse to prove to be to much for High point as the Friars would eventually go on to a 17-8 win. Providence sophomore Nick Hatzipetrakos would lead all players in the game with five goals and three assists while High point for four points from senior attack man Michael LeClair. Next up, the Friars will hit the road for another non-conference showdown when they had to Long Island to take on Hofstra while the Panthers will continue their road trip when they visit VMI.
