The battle for Long Island Division One lacrosse supremacy came to Hemstead, NY when the Hofstra Pride men's ;lacrosse team hosted the Stony Brook Seaswolves at James M. Schuart Stadium. Looking to remain undefeated on the season, the Hofstra Pride held down the seventh overall spot in the country while the Sea Wolves sat just outside the top twenty. Leading the way for the Pride is senior attack man and Tewaaraton Watch list member Josh Byrne and junior goalie jack Concannon, who ranks amongst the top in save percentage for D1. Stony Brook headed into the id week contest with senior Ryan Bitzer highlighting the teams offensive prowess, leading the team in points. After the first quarter ended in a 2-2 tie, the Pride took the game over for the next two quarters, racing out to a 10-3 lead heading into the final frame. However, the Sea Wolves would come roaring back, cutting the lead to two with only minutes remaining. However, Hofstra would hold on, weathering the Sea Wolves attack, winning the game by a score go 11-9.
