In a rematch of the 2016 Women’s Lacrosse NCAA National Championship, the second ranked Maryland Terrapins women’s lacrosse team hosted the top seeded North Carolina Tar Heels at Capital One Field in College Park, MD. Looking for revenge after last years defeat and to move in to number one spot in the country, the Terrapins were also seeking a perfect 3-0 record on the young season, as did the visiting Tar Heels. Played in front of a record crowd of 3,868 people and after a two hour delay due to inclement weather, the Terrapins took command early, jumping out to a 3-0 lead. The Terps would never look back, led by six points from sophomore Jen Giles, and would go on to win by a score of 13-10. With the loss, UNC also saw its program record 20-game winning streak come to an end. lax.com was on scene for all the action so check out the highlights and visit Lax.com all season long for more of the best highlights from womens college lacrosse.
